The total length of roads being repaired will be 700 km.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cWith almost half of Uzbekistan\u2019s population, isolated from the sea by two countries, living in rural areas where agriculture is the main source of livelihood, connectivity is critical\u201d, &#8211; said ADB Director General for Central and Western Asia Evgeniy Zhukov.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">ADB Senior Transport Specialist Yongkun noted that rural roads will be managed based on the Internet and GIS for better planning, maintenance and resource allocation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Also, women living in rural areas will be trained in sustainable agriculture and methods adapted to climate change.
