The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon continued negotiations in an expanded format with the participation of official delegations of the two countries, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan reports<\/a>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Issues of further deepening the Uzbek-Tajik relations of strategic partnership and alliance were substantively discussed, primarily in the political, trade-economic, transport-communications and cultural-humanitarian spheres.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn recent years, as a result of active dialogue at the highest level in the spirit of mutual trust and support, friendly relations between countries have risen to an unprecedented high level,\u201d Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the same time, it was noted that there is huge untapped potential and great opportunities for the further development of full-scale cooperation.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTo implement the historic Treaty on Allied Relations signed today, it is necessary to increase the effectiveness of contacts at all levels – parliaments, governments, foreign affairs agencies, ministries and regions,\u201d said the head of our state.<\/span><\/p>\n

The importance of developing cross-border trade mechanisms and trade infrastructure to bring trade turnover to $2 billion was emphasized.<\/span><\/p>\n

The presidents welcomed the firm agreements reached on the joint implementation of important projects in energy, electrical engineering, metallurgy, mining, textiles, pharmaceuticals, agro-industrial and other sectors, which will stimulate the development of deep industrial cooperation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Issues of continuing a constructive and mutually beneficial dialogue on water use issues were discussed.<\/span><\/p>\n

The President of our country noted the importance of effectively using the great potential of interregional cooperation, fully implementing agreements and agreements reached during the visit.<\/span><\/p>\n

The strategic direction defines interaction in the field of transport and transit. The presidents spoke in favor of expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in this direction and creating favorable conditions for the development of air transportation and railway communications, and increasing the volume of transit cargo transportation.<\/span><\/p>\n

The parties agreed to more actively support cultural and humanitarian exchanges.<\/span><\/p>\n

The importance of close contacts in countering modern challenges and threats and promoting socio-economic projects in Afghanistan was noted.<\/span><\/p>\n

The readiness to continue mutual support within the framework of regional and international structures was emphasized.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the meeting, reports were heard from deputy prime ministers, ministers of transport, energy and agriculture on the agenda.<\/span><\/p>\n

Following the negotiations, the heads of state instructed to prepare a joint \u201croad map\u201d and establish mechanisms for the effective implementation of the agreements reached.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
