A trading house of Uzbekistan was opened in the Lithuanian city of Klaipeda, the correspondent of \u2018\u2018Dunyo\u2019\u2019 news agency reports<\/a>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of ministries, departments and organizations, Lithuanian enterprises, business and public circles.<\/span><\/p>\n

The welcoming speeches noted the reforms being carried out in our country and their results, the economic, investment and export potential of Uzbekistan, and the prospects for a new trading house in Lithuania.<\/span><\/p>\n

In his speech, the chairman of the Lithuanian Seimas committee on economic issues, Kazys Starkevicius, emphasized that Lithuania considers Uzbekistan as one of the key countries in the region and is interested in the further development of trade and economic relations. According to him, the opening of the trading house will further increase the volume of Uzbekistan\u2019s trade not only with Lithuania, but also with other European countries.<\/span><\/p>\n

Co-chairman of the Uzbek-Lithuanian Business Council Albertas Sitavi\u010dius emphasized that the opening of a trading house of Uzbekistan in the largest port city of the Baltic states will significantly expand the geography of exports of Uzbek products, since the interest of Lithuanian logistics companies in establishing cooperation with the newly created trading complex is very high.<\/span><\/p>\n

The participants agreed that through this trading house, Uzbekistan will provide practical assistance to businessmen in establishing relations of mutual cooperation with large manufacturing enterprises in Lithuania, increasing the export of national products and attracting investors to Uzbekistan.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the event, export contracts worth 10.1 million US dollars were signed.<\/span><\/p>\n

The founders of the trading house were the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Lithuanian company \u201cUzterminal\u201d, which is located in the Klaipeda State Port on the territory of the largest Lithuanian logistics and stevedoring company \u201cVEGA\u201d. It is worth noting that today, through this port, cargo is sent to all countries of the world by sea and land. The port’s annual throughput capacity is 70 million tons of cargo.<\/span><\/p>\n

Let us remind you that this is the second trading house of Uzbekistan in Lithuania. In June 2023, the trading house of Uzbekistan was opened in Vilnius.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
