At the beginning of the meeting, the\u00a0Director of the UzSAMA,\u00a0A. Ortikov, congratulated Tatiana Proskuryakova on the\u00a0commencement of the regional office of the World Bank in Tashkent\u00a0since July of this year, as well as on her appointment as the\u00a0new head of the World Bank\u2019s office in Uzbekistan. He wished her success, achievement of high results in her future activities.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was also emphasized that bilateral cooperation is successfully developing and has already demonstrated significant results within the framework of reforms. In particular, in close collaboration with the World Bank, the Laws\u00a0\u2018\u2018On Management of State Property\u2019\u2019\u00a0and\u00a0\u2018\u2018On Privatization of State Property\u2019\u2019\u00a0were developed and adopted.<\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally, it was noted that the adoption of these fundamental documents has\u00a0significantly increased the efficiency\u00a0of privatization processes in Uzbekistan.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the beginning of the year, a\u00a0new privatization program\u00a0for 2024\u00a0was approved by the President, which includes plans to privatize shares in\u00a0247\u00a0state enterprises\u00a0and\u00a0over 1,000\u00a0real estate properties, as well as to list shares of large state companies\u00a0on local and international markets\u00a0in the form of\u00a0IPOs and SPOs.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the meeting, the parties also discussed ongoing projects, including the\u00a0development of an automation program for the monitoring system of state enterprises\u2019 activities\u00a0(BI system) within the framework of the World Bank\u2019s project to increase institutional capacity in Uzbekistan (IBL), as well as the need to attract an international consultant to improve the corporate governance system and unified policy of state enterprises.<\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore, it was reported that UzSAMA plans to develop a\u00a0strategy\u00a0for reforming and privatizing state enterprises\u00a0in 2025-2030 years. In this regard, the World Bank expressed its readiness to provide technical assistance in the development of this important document.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the end of the meeting, the parties discussed mechanisms to expedite the implementation of ongoing projects and joint actions, agreeing to continue active cooperation to develop new promising initiatives.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
