As part of the implementation of the project “Effective Use of the EU’s Generalized Scheme of Preferences (GSP+) in Uzbekistan,” the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade, in collaboration with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), organized a delegation visit from Uzbekistan to Latvia, Germany, and France from November 18 to 27, the press service of the MIIT reports<\/a>. The purpose was to increase the export of fruit and vegetable products to the European market.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

According to the program, from November 18 to 20, meetings were held in Riga with representatives of major fruit and vegetable importing companies such as “ELBI” and “KGS GRUPA.” Negotiations on transport and logistics issues were conducted with the company “ACTS,” as well as B2B meetings with representatives of Uzbekistan’s Trade House in Latvia.<\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally, a meeting was held with the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Latvia, where discussions focused on the transport potential of Latvia and Lithuania to boost export volumes to Europe. Detailed information about prospects for accessing European markets via the Port of Klaipeda was also reviewed.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the framework of exploring new trade opportunities with German partners, meetings were held with representatives of one of the largest retail chains, “EDEKA,” and “DEDEBIO International” in Bremen. These companies expressed interest in fresh and dried fruit and vegetable supplies, were presented with product samples, and reached preliminary agreements.<\/span><\/p>\n

As part of the visit, at the “Berliner Gro\u00dfmarkt” fruit and vegetable trading complex, a meeting was organized with fruit and vegetable import companies “Keuthmann,” “Lykos,” and “Sonnenfrucht” after examining product samples and analyzing prices. Specific supply agreements for Uzbek products were concluded.<\/span><\/p>\n

Discussions with the French company “Adla Sp z.o.o.” addressed increasing the export volumes of dried fruit and vegetable products to the markets of France, Poland, and the Netherlands. The delegation visited the “Rungis” market, the largest wholesale fruit and vegetable market in France, and held meetings with major importers “Saisof” and “Raphael Primeurs SAS.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Moreover, a meeting was organized with Uzbek entrepreneurs engaged in food imports to France. During the negotiations, prospects for uninterrupted product supply to the European market and plans for establishing an Uzbekistan Trade House in Paris were discussed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Overall, the visit highlighted the high quality and competitiveness of Uzbekistan’s agro-industrial products and the readiness of European importing companies to establish long-term partnerships with Uzbek counterparts.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
