President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Slovenia, Ljubljana hosted the Slovenian\u2013Uzbek Business Forum, the press service of the MIIT <a href=\"https:\/\/davlat.uz\/en\/miit\/news\/view\/56170\">reports<\/a>. The event brought together senior officials from the two governments and about 150 leading companies, financial institutions and business associations.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/467065b5-e880-179c-55a3-58f81e58ce81_lists_slider_56170.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-14567\" src=\"http:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/467065b5-e880-179c-55a3-58f81e58ce81_lists_slider_56170-1024x768.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/467065b5-e880-179c-55a3-58f81e58ce81_lists_slider_56170-1024x768.webp 1024w, https:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/467065b5-e880-179c-55a3-58f81e58ce81_lists_slider_56170-300x225.webp 300w, https:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/467065b5-e880-179c-55a3-58f81e58ce81_lists_slider_56170-768x576.webp 768w, https:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/467065b5-e880-179c-55a3-58f81e58ce81_lists_slider_56170-254x190.webp 254w, https:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/467065b5-e880-179c-55a3-58f81e58ce81_lists_slider_56170.webp 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Keynote speeches were delivered by Mr Matja\u017e Han, Slovenia\u2019s Minister of Economy, Tourism and Trade, and\u00a0Mr Akram Aliyev, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, alongside representatives of sectoral ministries, industry associations and chambers of commerce from both countries.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Aliyev underscored the importance of direct partnerships between Slovenian and Uzbek businesses, combining Slovenia\u2019s strengths in high technology, sustainable development and industrial innovation with Uzbekistan\u2019s significant industrial capacity, resources and export potential.<\/p>\n<p>Bilateral trade is on an upswing:\u00a0turnover reached USD 176 million in 2024\u00a0and\u00a0exceeded USD 127 million in Q1 2025. Key trade items include services, finished textiles, chemicals, mechanical equipment, stone-, ceramic- and gypsum-based products, and furniture.<\/p>\n<p>Looking ahead, Mr Aliyev identified several high-potential areas for collaboration:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High-value-added production in agriculture and food processing<\/li>\n<li>Pharmaceuticals<\/li>\n<li>Cable- and conductor-manufacturing<\/li>\n<li>Construction of hydroelectric power plants<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>He confirmed Uzbekistan\u2019s readiness to provide comprehensive support for new joint initiatives that align with investor interests and strengthen the country\u2019s economic resilience.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Han praised the scale of Uzbekistan\u2019s reforms and urged Slovenian entrepreneurs to engage actively with the Uzbek market.<\/p>\n<p>The forum featured\u00a0B2B and G2B matchmaking sessions, enabling participants to exchange expertise and explore new cooperation avenues. A number of agreements and contracts were signed covering investment partnerships, pharmaceuticals, urban infrastructure, copper products, fruit-and-vegetable storage and processing, railway infrastructure, micro-hydropower plants, electrical engineering and other promising fields.<\/p>\n<p>The programme continued with the arrival of President Mirziyoyev, underscoring the high-level commitment to deepening Slovenian\u2013Uzbek economic ties.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 22 May 2025, during the state visit of H.E.
