﻿{"id":15298,"date":"2025-11-05T19:08:45","date_gmt":"2025-11-05T14:08:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/?p=15298"},"modified":"2025-11-05T19:08:45","modified_gmt":"2025-11-05T14:08:45","slug":"rassmotren-hod-reform-i-dalnejshie-plany-v-sfere-meditsiny-i-farmatsevtiki","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/en\/novosti-uzbekistana\/rassmotren-hod-reform-i-dalnejshie-plany-v-sfere-meditsiny-i-farmatsevtiki\/","title":{"rendered":"The progress of reforms and future plans in the field of medicine and pharmaceuticals were reviewed"},"content":{"rendered":"<strong>On November 3, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on improving medical care for children with rare (orphan) diseases, the progress of reforms, and the implementation of new projects in the pharmaceutical sector, the press service of the head of our state <a href=\"https:\/\/president.uz\/ru\/lists\/view\/8618\">reports<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/951b5fec-9b56-55d3-3c82-8caef045e229_lists_slider_8618.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-15299\" src=\"http:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/951b5fec-9b56-55d3-3c82-8caef045e229_lists_slider_8618-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" srcset=\"https:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/951b5fec-9b56-55d3-3c82-8caef045e229_lists_slider_8618-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/951b5fec-9b56-55d3-3c82-8caef045e229_lists_slider_8618-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/951b5fec-9b56-55d3-3c82-8caef045e229_lists_slider_8618-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/951b5fec-9b56-55d3-3c82-8caef045e229_lists_slider_8618-254x169.jpg 254w, https:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/951b5fec-9b56-55d3-3c82-8caef045e229_lists_slider_8618.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The country is consistently implementing measures aimed at preventing hereditary and congenital diseases, as well as timely diagnosis and treatment of children suffering from rare (orphan) diseases.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, 2,174 children with five types of orphan and hereditary-genetic diseases are provided with free diagnostics, medications, and specialized therapeutic nutrition, funded by the state budget.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of improved diagnostic quality, new types of orphan diseases are being identified, and the number of children in need of treatment and support is increasing.<\/p>\n<p>The presentation presented information on the developed program of activities for 2026\u20132030, aimed at organizing medical and social assistance for children with rare and other hereditary-genetic diseases.<\/p>\n<p>According to the program, the number of diseases for which treatment will be funded by the state will increase from 5 to 10, and the age limit will be extended from 18 to 21.<\/p>\n<p>It is planned to allocate 961 billion soums for the program&#8217;s implementation from 2026 to 2030.<\/p>\n<p>The head of state signed the corresponding resolution and approved the program.<\/p>\n<p>The President was also briefed on pharmaceutical production, investment, the implementation of projects in the \u2018\u2018Tashkent Pharma Park\u2019\u2019 industrial zone, and ongoing work to ensure the quality and safety of medicines.<\/p>\n<p>Sector enterprises produced goods worth 5 trillion soums, exported goods worth $172 million, and invested $286 million, $257 million of which was foreign.<\/p>\n<p>Thirty-five domestic companies have mastered the production of 205 types of medicines, exporting to 55 countries. This year, 16 projects worth a total of $29 million have been commissioned, creating 830 new jobs.<\/p>\n<p>To ensure quality and safety, 61 companies have implemented the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standard, 486 distribution warehouses have implemented the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and 9,450 pharmacies have implemented the Good Manufacturing Practices (GPP).<\/p>\n<p>The presentation also discussed measures to prevent manipulation in the formation of reference prices for imported medicines.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, 4,900 of the 7,600 imported medicines are not included in the price registries of reference countries.<\/p>\n<p>According to the proposed measures, the average prices of 2,600 prescription medicines are expected to be reduced by 40-50 percent beginning January 1, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Improving mechanisms for public procurement of pharmaceutical products was also discussed. To prevent the purchase of substandard goods and corruption, all purchases will be conducted through a dedicated electronic platform, farma.xarid.uz.<\/p>\n<p>Following the launch of this system, only manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers with all necessary certificates (GMP, ISO:13485 GDP) will be able to participate in public procurement.<\/p>\n<p>Public procurement volumes, as well as registries of certified manufacturers and distributors, will be publicly available.<\/p>\n<p>The system will include automated verification that the price of purchased drugs does not exceed the established reference level.<\/p>\n<p>The head of state instructed that a special platform for determining the needs of public medical institutions for medicines and medical equipment, as well as for the effective management of inventory, be developed by January 1, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The President was also presented with information on the new procedure for state registration of medicines and medical devices.<\/p>\n<p>The new mechanism provides for the establishment of production based on technology transfer, which will allow foreign pharmaceutical companies to manufacture products using local manufacturers&#8217; facilities and undergo state registration on an expedited basis.<\/p>\n<p>Conditions are being created for the introduction into medical practice of new types of biotechnological cell-based drugs designed to treat damaged tissue, grow individual organs, and restore the body&#8217;s functional capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>Clinical trials of generic drugs and the evaluation of their results will be conducted in accordance with international standards, and the registration period for such drugs will be shortened.
