The country has set a goal of entering the top 50 countries in the world under this index by 2030.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Uzbekistan plans to increase the volume of AI-based software products and services to USD 1.5 billion, expand its infrastructure, and implement more than 200 new projects.<\/p>\n<p>Emphasizing that artificial intelligence technologies are developing at a rapid pace, the President noted the need to continuously analyze global and regional trends, promptly adopt advanced technologies, and put forward new initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>The presentation primarily focused on the development of modern computing infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, a supercomputer based on technologies from the American company NVIDIA was commissioned at the Digital Government data center. In terms of computing power, it ranked 321st in the world. Within just one month, the cluster\u2019s utilization reached 90 percent, indicating strong demand for computing capacity in Uzbekistan.<\/p>\n<p>To date, a modern computing infrastructure worth USD 24 million has been put into operation. A proposal was presented to allocate an additional USD 70 million for expanding the existing computing cluster. The President was informed about financing sources, equipment delivery schedules, and data center projects being implemented jointly with foreign investors in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.<\/p>\n<p>It was noted that the effectiveness of AI-based solutions directly depends on the quality of the underlying data. Solutions being developed for healthcare, energy, transport, customs administration, legal services, public safety, environmental protection, and geology were presented.<\/p>\n<p>The importance of establishing systematic cooperation with IT Park residents, startups, and more than 20 artificial intelligence laboratories was also highlighted. It is expected that by the end of this year the number of residents operating in this field will reach 300, the value of services they provide will amount to 2 trillion soums, and exports will total USD 160 million.<\/p>\n<p>Particular attention was given to human capital development. More than 1.5 million users have already received specialized certificates in artificial intelligence. In addition, 900 executives, more than 3,000 civil servants, 1,000 banking employees, and 200 advisers have completed specialized AI training courses.<\/p>\n<p>For the next two years, the government has set the task of fully implementing the Five Million AI Leaders project and developing modern educational and methodological materials for schoolchildren, university students, teachers, and the broader public.<\/p>\n<p>Sector-specific hackathons and competitions have been held in Nukus, Samarkand, Termez, Bukhara, Fergana, Andijan, Gulistan, and Jizzakh. The Best Artificial Intelligence Startup competition has also been launched. The President instructed that similar hackathons be organized in all regions of the country.<\/p>\n<p>The activities of advisers on artificial intelligence serving regional, district, and city hokims were also discussed. Out of 500 candidates, 222 advisers were selected. The President stressed the need to appoint more young professionals educated abroad and highly proficient in modern technologies, and to evaluate their work based on concrete performance and effectiveness indicators.<\/p>\n<p>A separate digital platform is to be launched to monitor and support the activities of these advisers, as well as the projects and initiatives they implement.<\/p>\n<p>The presentation also covered prospects for expanding international cooperation in the field of AI.
