{"id":17452,"date":"2026-09-28T17:46:46","date_gmt":"2026-09-28T12:46:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/?p=17452"},"modified":"2026-09-28T17:46:46","modified_gmt":"2026-09-28T12:46:46","slug":"v-johannesburge-sostoyalsya-pervyj-uzbeksko-yuzhnoafrikanskij-biznes-forum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/en\/novosti-uzbekistana\/v-johannesburge-sostoyalsya-pervyj-uzbeksko-yuzhnoafrikanskij-biznes-forum\/","title":{"rendered":"The First Uzbekistan\u2013South Africa Business Forum was held in Johannesburg"},"content":{"rendered":"<strong>The first Uzbekistan\u2013South Africa Business Forum, aimed at further expanding trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Republic of South Africa, was held in Johannesburg, the correspondent of the Dunyo news agency <a href=\"https:\/\/dunyo.info\/ru\/news\/v-yohannesburge-sostoyalsya-pervyy-uzbeksko-yuzhnoafrikanskiy-biznes-forum\">reports<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/1790500645958_s1fs6sfiiia.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-17453\" src=\"http:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/1790500645958_s1fs6sfiiia.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"950\" height=\"534\" srcset=\"https:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/1790500645958_s1fs6sfiiia.webp 950w, https:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/1790500645958_s1fs6sfiiia-300x169.webp 300w, https:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/1790500645958_s1fs6sfiiia-768x432.webp 768w, https:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/1790500645958_s1fs6sfiiia-254x143.webp 254w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 950px) 100vw, 950px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The event was organized with the support of the South African Department of Trade, Industry and Competition, the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Minara Chamber of Commerce.<\/p>\n<p>The event brought together representatives of government agencies and companies operating in such priority sectors as mining, energy and petrochemicals, textiles, agriculture, information technology, agribusiness, and the food industry.<\/p>\n<p>The forum featured speeches by Uzbekistan\u2019s Ambassador to the Republic of South Africa Ashraf Khojayev, Roxana Nesor, Director of the Agency for Attracting Foreign Investment under the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, Yunus Hussein, Head of a Department at the South African Department of Trade, Industry and Competition, Alan Mukoki, Chief Executive Officer of the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as other officials and business representatives.<\/p>\n<p>Participants were presented with information on Uzbekistan\u2019s economic potential, the results of the large-scale reforms being implemented in the country, investment opportunities, and export potential.<\/p>\n<p>Foreign partners were also presented with opportunities to increase bilateral trade between Uzbekistan and South Africa, enter new markets, implement joint projects, and establish direct business contacts between private-sector representatives.<\/p>\n<p>The presentations placed particular emphasis on Uzbekistan\u2019s opportunities in the digital economy and information technology sector. In particular, participants were informed about the activities of IT Park Uzbekistan, the conditions created for its residents, and the country\u2019s potential to serve as a regional IT hub.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the forum, government agencies, business representatives, and private companies from the two countries discussed promising areas of mutually beneficial cooperation. The sides exchanged views on intensifying trade and economic relations, establishing regular dialogue between entrepreneurs, and promoting investment and export projects.<\/p>\n<p>The forum resulted in a number of initiatives aimed at giving practical substance to business ties between Uzbekistan and South Africa. In particular, a business mission of South African companies to Uzbekistan is planned to take place by the end of this year.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative to hold a special business forum in Tashkent in 2027 with the participation of women entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan and South Africa was also supported. The sides further agreed to continue regular dialogue between the business communities of the two countries and to hold the Uzbekistan\u2013South Africa Business Forum annually.<\/p>\n<p>The event also included bilateral meetings with representatives of companies such as Sasol, DepiJet, Scaw Metals Group, Dentons South Africa, Sobek Group, Green Energy Worldwide, FZB Textiles, Fehz Holding, and AMC Mining. The talks focused on opportunities for cooperation in specific sectors, the implementation of investment projects, and expanding bilateral trade.<\/p>\n<p>The first Uzbekistan\u2013South Africa Business Forum provided an important platform for direct dialogue between the business communities of the two countries.
