The meeting was co-chaired by Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Anas Sarwar, UK Minister of State for Trade.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/photo_2026-10-13_15-56-58.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-17618\" src=\"http:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/photo_2026-10-13_15-56-58.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"523\" height=\"615\" srcset=\"https:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/photo_2026-10-13_15-56-58.jpg 523w, https:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/photo_2026-10-13_15-56-58-255x300.jpg 255w, https:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/photo_2026-10-13_15-56-58-162x190.jpg 162w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 523px) 100vw, 523px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThe parties discussed trade, investment and industrial cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>In January\u2013August 2026, bilateral trade increased by 12.6%, reaching nearly $250 million.<\/p>\n<p>Particular attention was paid to the UK\u2019s Developing Countries Trading Scheme (DCTS), simplifying certification procedures, removing technical barriers and facilitating access for Uzbek products to UK retail chains.<\/p>\n<p>Discussions also covered the implementation of 46 projects, financing with the support of UK Export Finance, the development of the Tashkent International Financial Centre, and cooperation in electrical engineering, critical minerals, pharmaceuticals and transport equipment manufacturing.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting concluded with the signing of the Protocol of the Second Meeting of the Committee, formalising agreements in trade, investment, industry, digital technologies, finance and healthcare.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 9 October, Tashkent hosted the second meeting of the Uzbekistan\u2013UK Joint Economic Committee, the press service of the MIIT reports.
