{"id":6300,"date":"2020-06-30T14:01:32","date_gmt":"2020-06-30T09:01:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/?p=6300"},"modified":"2020-06-30T14:01:32","modified_gmt":"2020-06-30T09:01:32","slug":"obrazovano-agentstvo-po-protivodejstviyu-korruptsii","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/invest-in-uzbekistan.org\/en\/novosti-uzbekistana\/obrazovano-agentstvo-po-protivodejstviyu-korruptsii\/","title":{"rendered":"Anti-corruption Agency established"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">A Presidential Decree \u00abOn additional measures to improve the system of combating corruption in the Republic of Uzbekistan\u00bb was adopted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">In accordance with the Decree, the Anti-corruption Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan (the Agency) was established.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The Agency is a specially authorized State body responsible for the formulation and implementation of State policy in the area of preventing and combating corruption.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The Agency is subordinate to the President and reports to the Chambers of the Oliy Majlis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The Decree defines the main tasks and directions of the Agency\u2019s activities. In particular, the Agency provides a systematic analysis of the state of corruption in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The Agency conducts a comprehensive analysis of the results of investigations into corruption offences, particularly those that are harmful to the national interests and international authority of Uzbekistan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The Agency is also granted a number of rights:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">to request, receive and study materials relating to the expenditure of budgetary resources, the disposal of State assets, State procurement, the implementation of investment projects and the implementation of State programmes;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">to consider appeals by natural and legal persons concerning corruption and to take measures to restore their violated rights and protect their legitimate interests;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">conduct administrative investigations into corruption offences;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">to issue binding orders for the suspension or annulment of decisions of executive authorities, economic administration bodies and their officials if they reveal signs of corruption.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Warnings, representations and communications from the Agency are subject to a mandatory written review within 10 days.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Presidential Decree \u00abOn additional measures to improve the system of combating corruption in the Republic of Uzbekistan\u00bb was adopted.
