During the online event, the announcement was made by USAID Administrator John Barsa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Prior to this, the agency&#8217;s office in Uzbekistan was part of the USAID mission in Central Asia (in Almaty). Simultaneously, a new USAID mission was opened in Tajikistan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cMissions are the focal points of USAID&#8217;s work and demonstrate that the United States is committed to building direct and meaningful relationships with the government and people of the country,\u201d said John Barsa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The new missions in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan will help ensure that USAID is coordinated in the region, so that no Central Asian country is left behind.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the United States Javlon Vakhabov, speaking at an online event, noted that Tashkent highly appreciates USAID&#8217;s support for large-scale reforms in Uzbekistan and its contribution to the country&#8217;s development.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">He noted that the goals of the US strategy for Central Asia coincide with the priorities and vision of Uzbekistan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Source: Gazeta.uz<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on September 30 announced the establishment of a bilateral mission in Uzbekistan.
