Wafayev to the UAE, negotiations were held with the CEO of Masdar, Muhammad Al Ramahi.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">Recall that Masdar successfully implemented the project of the first 100 MW solar photovoltaic station in Uzbekistan, which was solemnly introduced in August 2021 in the Navoi region.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">During the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues of the cooperation agenda, including the possibility of accelerating the implementation of large investment projects in the energy sector in Uzbekistan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">M. Al Ramahi informed that Masdar plans to start construction: in August 2022 &#8211; a 500 MW wind farm in Navoi region, and in December &#8211; photovoltaic stations with a total capacity of 897 MW in Surkhandarya, Jizak and Samarkand regions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">The implementation of these projects will help Uzbekistan achieve its goals of increasing the amount of electricity generated by solar and wind energy to 8 GW and bringing the share of alternative energy sources in the country&#8217;s total energy balance to 25 percent by 2026, which will reduce Uzbekistan&#8217;s energy dependence on gas and coal.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Within the framework of the visit of the delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Sh.
