The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov today held talks with Deputy National Security Adviser to the Prime Minister of India Vikram Misri, who arrived in our country to participate in the regular meeting of the secretaries of the Security Councils of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the correspondent of “Dunyo” news agency reports<\/a>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

According to the Foreign Ministry, the parties noted with satisfaction the breakthrough achieved in the development of Uzbek-Indian relations of strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation, which became possible thanks to a confidential dialogue and practical efforts of the leaders of the two countries.<\/span><\/p>\n

Vikram Misri announced the full support of the Government of India for the course of large-scale reforms being carried out in our country, assuring the readiness of New Delhi to intensify cooperation with Uzbekistan in all directions at the bilateral level and in the “India-Central Asia” format.<\/span><\/p>\n

The efforts of the Uzbek side to promote interconnectedness between Central and South Asia were highly appreciated, which will open up new opportunities for realizing the huge trade, economic, investment, transport and transit potential of the two historically close regions.<\/span><\/p>\n

An exchange of views took place on the current situation in the world and the region. Vikram Misri welcomed the active steps taken by Uzbekistan to provide humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan, the implementation of infrastructure, transport and energy projects in this country aimed at its economic recovery.<\/span><\/p>\n

An agreement was reached on building up cooperation through international institutions. Particular attention was paid to the organizational aspects of the upcoming events within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The Indian delegation informed about the readiness to provide all possible assistance in the implementation of the priorities of the chairmanship of Uzbekistan in the SCO.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
