According to the report<\/a> of “Gazeta.Uz”, it is planned to allocate $1 billion for the introduction of renewable energy sources in the capital of Uzbekistan, the president said. Solar panels will be installed on buildings and other facilities. The state will be guaranteed to buy surplus energy from the population and businesses.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

It is planned to allocate 1 billion US dollars for the introduction of renewable energy sources in Tashkent, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at a meeting in the capital on Wednesday, his press secretary Sherzod Asadov reported<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The head of state noted that the demand for electricity and natural gas is constantly growing in the city. According to him, calculations have been made to solve problems in the energy sector in the capital. First of all, it is planned to use the potential of renewable energy.<\/span><\/p>\n

In particular, it is proposed to install solar panels with a total capacity of 2,000 MW in the city. They can cover the roofs of multi-storey buildings, social facilities, buildings of government agencies and private enterprises, industrial zones, car parks and large water structures.<\/span><\/p>\n

Due to this, according to calculations, the expected energy demand in 2023 in the amount of 240 million kWh can be covered by more than 4 times, generating 1.08 billion kWh of energy.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
According to the data announced at the meeting, it is planned to generate 400 million kWh of energy through the installation of solar panels in industrial zones and large enterprises and 75 million kWh at social facilities and government buildings.<\/span><\/p>\n
It is planned to build a large solar power plant with a capacity of 500 MW in the Yukorichirchik district of the Tashkent region.<\/span><\/p>\n
It is planned to reduce electricity losses by 1% and increase energy efficiency by 3% at the manufacturing enterprises of the capital.<\/span><\/p>\n
In 1,817 multi-storey residential buildings, it is planned to completely renovate the heating system.<\/span><\/p>\n
Due to the renewal of 300 km of main heating networks, heat losses are expected to be reduced by 5%.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that the state would be guaranteed to purchase electricity generated by enterprises (from this year) and the population (from next year).<\/span><\/p>\n
He stressed the importance of abandoning the state monopoly in the production of electricity and creating a competitive environment.<\/span><\/p>\n
The population is offered to pay 1,000 soums for each kW of energy received from solar panels and given to the state as surplus (the current tariff is 295 soums).<\/span><\/p>\n
