It was noted with deep satisfaction that thanks to systematic and productive contacts, the Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations of strategic partnership have reached a qualitatively new level, filled with concrete content.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Last year, trade between the two countries increased by more than 50 percent. The implementation of cooperation projects in such priority areas as the automotive industry, the textile industry and sericulture is in the active phase. Preparations are underway for promising projects in the oil and gas sector, transport and logistics.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Within the framework of the first Forum of Regions held in Tashkent in February of this year, an Agreement on the establishment of a joint Investment Fund was signed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The interest in the exchange of experience in the development of the activities of free economic zones and the system of tax administration was noted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The importance of further expansion of cultural and humanitarian exchanges was emphasized.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The heads of state discussed topical international and regional issues, considered a schedule of upcoming events.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The meeting was held in a traditionally open, warm and friendly atmosphere.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Upon arrival in Baku, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
