On April 12, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a member of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, Minister of Foreign Affairs Qin Gang, who arrived in our country to participate in the regular meeting of the heads of foreign affairs agencies of Afghanistan’s neighboring countries. This was reported<\/a> by the press service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Topical issues of further deepening the Uzbek-Chinese relations of comprehensive strategic partnership and expanding multifaceted cooperation were considered.<\/span><\/p>\n

First, Foreign Minister Qin Gang conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of Chinese President Xi Jinping to the head of our state.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the meeting, it was emphasized with particular satisfaction that, thanks to political will and joint efforts, bilateral relations have reached an unprecedented high level.<\/span><\/p>\n

In recent years, trade has doubled, the number of joint ventures and projects has tripled, and $11 billion in Chinese investment has been attracted. After the pandemic, with the restoration of regular flights, contacts between regions, educational, cultural and humanitarian exchanges intensified.<\/span><\/p>\n

The leader of Uzbekistan noted the importance of thorough preparation for the upcoming state visit to China and the Central Asia-China summit.<\/span><\/p>\n

There was also an exchange of views on issues of the international and regional agenda.<\/span><\/p>\n

The importance of the speedy implementation of the Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan-China railway construction project, for which technical documentation is currently being prepared, was emphasized.<\/span><\/p>\n

Particular attention was paid to the need to continue close coordination in matters of a peaceful settlement of the situation in Afghanistan and to provide practical assistance to the socio-economic development of this country.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
