This <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gazeta.uz\/en\/2023\/04\/27\/lithium\/\">was reported<\/a> by &#8220;Gazeta.uz&#8221;.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">On\u00a0April 26, at\u00a0the \u201cInnoprom. Central Asia\u201d exhibition, Deputy Minister of\u00a0Mining Industry and Geology of\u00a0Uzbekistan, Azam Kadirhodzhaev, declared the country plans to\u00a0start lithium development projects.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cThere is\u00a0a\u00a0large deposit of\u00a0lithium in\u00a0Uzbekistan\u00a0\u2014 we\u00a0are preparing to\u00a0start mining and processing this metal in\u00a0the country,\u201d the deputy minister said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">He\u00a0noted that the ministry generally considers development of\u00a0the so-called \u201ctechnological metals\u201d in\u00a0the country as\u00a0a\u00a0promising direction.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">A\u00a0little less than a\u00a0year ago, the Uzbek President was informed about plans to\u00a0establish a\u00a0project office Yangi Kon (New Mine) with a\u00a0charter capital of $15 million under the Reconstruction and Development Fund of\u00a0Uzbekistan. The structure will implement investment projects to\u00a0produce graphite, lithium, aluminium, magnesium and other rare metals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Uzbekistan\u2019s portfolio of\u00a0investment proposals\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/invest.gov.uz\/ru\/invest-offers\/development-of-the-shavazsay-lithium-deposit\/\">includes<\/a>\u00a0development of\u00a0the Shavazsay lithium deposit in\u00a0the Tashkent region. Its reserves exceed 123,000 tonnes.
