As part of the BRICS summit program in Kazan, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Pham Minh Tinh, the press service of the head of our state reports.
The issues of developing Uzbek-Vietnamese multifaceted cooperation and practical interaction, primarily in the trade, economic and investment spheres, were discussed.
The importance of giving a systemic character to intergovernmental and interdepartmental contacts was emphasized. The parties advocated holding the next meeting of the Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Issues, as well as a business forum and industrial exhibition in Hanoi early next year.
To promote new projects, it was proposed to prepare a program for the development of industrial cooperation in such areas as petrochemicals, electrical engineering, textile, agricultural and other industries. Particular attention was paid to increasing business and tourism exchanges, including by establishing a visa-free regime.
The schedule of upcoming contacts at the highest and high level was considered. Prime Minister Pham Minh Tinh invited the President of Uzbekistan to pay an official visit to Vietnam.
