On November 18, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on measures for socio-economic development, further improvement of the investment climate and business environment in the Andijan region, the press service of the head of our state reports.
Andijan region has high economic potential. The visit of the head of state in February of this year and the tasks set during it gave additional impetus to the development of the region. Good results have been achieved in the spheres of industry, entrepreneurship, trade, services, tourism and agriculture.
At the same time, there are still many unrealized opportunities. During the studies conducted in the districts, a number of opportunities were identified.
For example, Chinese investors launched a project to grow peppers using drip irrigation and its processing on 600 hectares in the Altinkul and Jalakuduk districts. Calculations show that this will allow exporting products worth 15 thousand dollars per hectare.
In the Pakhtaabad district, in cooperation with a company from the United Arab Emirates, the cultivation of cherries and berries has been organized on 470 hectares. The entrepreneur asked the state to provide infrastructure in connection with the timely fulfillment of investment obligations.
The possibility of restoring the activities of 4 poultry enterprises in the region and employing 650 people from low-income families has been identified.
The ‘‘ADM Electrics’’ enterprise in Asaka produces 28 types of wires and multimedia systems for cars. Expanding the localization of production of such models as ‘‘Onyx’’, ‘‘Tracker’’, ‘‘Kia Sonet’’ will increase the capacity and income of the enterprise.
At the meeting, the khokim of the Andijan region presented a draft resolution on the use of these and other opportunities. It provides for target indicators for the socio-economic development of the Andijan region for 2025. In particular, tasks have been defined for the development of investments in the amount of 3 billion 100 million dollars, the implementation of 334 investment projects, providing employment for 305 thousand people and exporting 1 billion dollars.
Also, in the region, taking into account the population density, opportunities will be created in the land issue. The category of a total of 1,800 hectares of land will be changed, including areas not used in agriculture, including hilly areas. Production and service complexes, residential buildings will be built on these lands.
The head of state, having approved the proposals, gave additional instructions on the effective use of new opportunities, providing projects with modern infrastructure, increasing employment and incomes of the population.
