On May 12, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who is in our country to participate in the next meeting of the joint Intergovernmental Commission. This was reported by the press service of the head of our state.
Issues of further strengthening the Uzbek-Tajik relations of good neighborliness, strategic partnership and alliance were considered, and prospects for expanding practical cooperation were discussed.
At the beginning of the conversation, Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to the head of our state.
During the meeting, the dynamic development of bilateral cooperation in accordance with the agreements at the highest level was noted with satisfaction. The volumes of mutual trade and cargo transportation are growing, the number of successful cooperation projects is increasing. Close interregional contacts have been established, and active cultural and humanitarian exchanges are being carried out.
Particular attention was paid to the adoption of effective measures to increase trade turnover, promote promising projects in energy, engineering, agriculture, transport, mining, textile and other industries with the involvement of financing from the Uzbek-Tajik investment company.
In this context, the importance of the practical implementation of the decisions of the meeting of the joint Intergovernmental Commission, held today under the chairmanship of the prime ministers of the two countries in the city of Tashkent, was emphasized.
