Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ravshan Usmanov met with the executive director of the British companies ‘Wholefoods Glasgow’ and ‘Foodasia’ Muhammad Khan, the correspondent of ‘Dunyo’ news agency reports.
The meeting discussed the issues of establishing the export of agricultural and textile products of Uzbekistan to the British market and finding foreign partners.
The companies ‘Wholefoods Glasgow’ and ‘Foodasia’ are based in Scotland and are engaged in the import of agricultural products from other countries. Their main activity is the wholesale trade of food products.
During the meeting, the British businessman was provided with information about the products grown in Uzbekistan. Muhammad Khan expressed his readiness to consider the possibility of importing various products to the British market.
The issues of improving the quality of agricultural products, supply chain management, export promotion, packaging products in accordance with export requirements and their compliance with the required standards were also discussed.
In these areas, it was decided to establish cooperation with farmers and exporters of agricultural products in the republic.
Following the meeting, agreements were reached on organizing negotiations within the framework of the participation of Uzbek exporters in the International Forum (IFE) of food and beverages, which will be held on March 17-19, 2025 at the ExCel International Exhibition Centre in London.
IFE – ‘International Food and Drink Exhibition’ is one of the largest exhibitions of food and beverages in the world, which annually brings together manufacturers, distributors, retail and hotel business specialists on one site. This facilitates the presentation of new products, as well as the establishment of business contacts and direct cooperation links between manufacturers and importing enterprises, and the study of new market opportunities. It is expected that the exhibition will be visited by about 30 thousand visitors, including more than 1,500 manufacturers.
