He stated the need to reform the Mahsustrans enterprise, which is engaged in waste removal, and improve its financial condition.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed the responsible persons to increase the level of waste processing in the capital to at least 50%.
In December 2020, the President signed a resolution on the introduction of separate waste collection in Tashkent. From 2021, separate collection was to begin in 24 mahallas, and from 2023 it was planned to be extended to the entire capital.
Prior to this, attempts were also made to introduce separate waste collection in the capital, but the plans were never completed.
A year ago, at a meeting, the president instructed to increase the coverage of household waste collection services in the country to 95% and increase the volume of their processing to 40%.
