May 2, 2023 The 24th meeting of the SCO Business Council was held in a hybrid format, which was attended online by the First Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Islam Jasimov, the press service of the CCI reports.
During his speech, I. Jasimov noted the positive results in the ongoing reform to liberalize the economy, increase the investment attractiveness of the country, and support exporters of products and services. He also proposed creating a special platform to inform the business communities of the participating countries about the benefits and preferences provided to foreign investors, including for participants in special economic zones.
I. Jasimov also noted that within the framework of the exhibition “INNOPROM. Central Asia” between entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan and Russia, a survey was conducted, and proposals and problematic issues of the business of the two countries were put forward during a meeting of the Uzbek-Russian and Russian-Uzbek Business Councils.
During his speech, the Chairman of the SCO Business Council, Chairman of the National Part of the SCO DC from the Republic of India, Tribhuvan Darbari, noted a number of actions carried out by the Indian government and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry to develop trade and economic cooperation between the SCO member countries.
He also noted several areas in which India is interested in doing business and cooperating with business entities of the SCO member countries. Including tourism, food industry, education, etc.
Moreover, the Indian side put forward a proposal to make a plan of tasks on the proposals put forward during the speech of the meeting participants.
In his speech, SCO Deputy Secretary General Sohail Khan noted that in the new reality, the SCO is a driver and support for the development of relations between the SCO member countries, and the Business Council has become a unique platform and in-demand tool for developing trade and economic relations.
He also supported the idea of the Indian side to create an action plan based on the results of this meeting and noted that the activities of the SCO Business Council should change the course of action and intensify cooperation between entrepreneurs of the SCO member countries.
