The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Estonia, Kadambay Sultanov, held a video conference meeting with the head of the office of the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Magnus Ilmyar, the correspondent of “Dunyo” news agency reports.
The meeting was also attended by the director of the Agency for Attracting Foreign Investments under the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Ulugbek Kasimkhodzhaev and the Ambassador of Estonia to our country Thomas Tiers.
Practical issues of further building up bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation were discussed.
The parties positively assessed the almost two-fold increase in trade between the countries in 2022 compared to the previous year, exceeding the amount of 92 million US dollars. The growing interest of large Estonian businesses in Uzbekistan was noted.
In this regard, the Estonian side proposed to organize a business mission to Uzbekistan on March 27. The mission will include the country’s leading companies specializing in ICT and software development, digital and green technologies, legal services, tourism, trade and other areas.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on the joint study of organizational, logistical and substantive issues of the upcoming visit of the Estonian business delegation to Uzbekistan with an emphasis on reaching practical results that meet the interests of the parties.
