10 companies of Uzbekistan that paid the most taxes in 2022 were named

The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) has presented a list of the largest taxpayers in Uzbekistan in 2022, “Gazeta.uz” reports. This is stated in the publication “Budget for Citizens”, which was published with a severe delay.

According to the MEF, in 2022, the top 10 taxpayers provided 33.1% (36.44% was predicted) of the state budget revenue, which amounted to 201.86 trillion soums last year.

Their share has decreased compared to the previous year, when 10 companies provided 39.8% of budget revenues.

The Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine (NMMC) remains the leader in tax payments to the budget – 32.9 trillion soums, or about 16.3% of the revenue. At the same time, this is less than in 2021 (21.4%).

The second place was taken by the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine (AMMC) with an indicator of 17.36 trillion soums (8.6%), although in the previous year its share was 9.1%.

The Tax Committee previously explained the drop in revenues by the fact that the profit tax for NMMC and AMMC was reduced from 75% to 50%, and taxes for the use of subsoil from 15% to 10%. Because of this, the budget received less than 12.5 trillion soums.

Uzbekneftegaz is in third position, providing 2.2% of budget revenues (444.1 billion soums). The company’s share increased compared to 2021 (from 2%).

Full list:
NMMC – 16.3% of the share in budget revenues (in 2021 it was 21.4%);
AMMC — 8.6% (9.1%);
Uzbekneftegaz” – 2.2% (2%);
Uztransgaz – 1.4% (2%);
Hududgazta’minot – 1.2% (1.2%);
UzBAT — 1.1% (1.2%);
UzAuto Motors — 0.7% (0.4%);
Bukhara Oil Refinery — 0.6% (0.8%);
Uz-Kor Gas Chemical – 0.5% (0.8%);
Uzmetkombinat — 0.5% (0.8%).

The MEF noted in March that the dependence of the state budget on the 10 largest taxpayers in 2023 will decrease even more. Their share in tax revenues is projected at 31.2%.

It should be noted that in 2018, 20 large taxpayers accounted for 34% of the forecast revenues, that is, the sources of state budget revenues were more diversified. Then the share of Uztransgaz was 5.1%, NMMC – 5%, AMMC – 3.1%. The list also included Kyzylkumcement – 1.2%, Fergana Oil Refinery – 1.2%, Coscom (Ucell) – 1%, operator of the Uzbekistan-China gas pipeline Asia Trans Gas – 1.2%, Akhangarancement – 0.6%, Toshkentvino – 1.1% and others. Some of these companies have been privatized.
