Strategic and major projects in Navoi region were presented to the President

The head of state got acquainted with the presentation of new investment projects planned in the Navoi region, the press service of the head of our state reports.

Over the past seven years, more than $3.5 billion in investments have been attracted to the region, which has created 64,700 jobs and provided an export potential of $1.2 billion per year. This year, 577 projects worth $2.1 billion are being implemented.

This work continues: foreign investors and local entrepreneurs have formed more than a hundred strategic and large projects worth $26.8 billion.

12 of them were presented to the President.

Companies from the USA, France, Germany, Austria, Russia, the UAE, Qatar, China, Japan, Korea and Turkey are investing in the projects. These initiatives cover such industries as chemistry, energy, mining, electrical engineering, medicine, construction, textiles and light industry.

For example, in cooperation with China, projects for the production of high-value-added products worth 2.5 billion soums per year will be implemented in the Karmaninsky district. This involves the creation of an industrial park specializing in chemical products and building materials, as well as a plant for the production of wind turbine blades.

In the same district, it is planned to implement an investment project in partnership with Russia – the production of aluminum containers for the food industry. In cooperation with Turkey, the extraction and processing of 370 thousand tons of phosphorite per year, as well as the production of phosphoric acid and mineral fertilizers will be organized in the Konimekhsky district. A project for the production of 170 thousand tons of sodium salts and caustic soda in the city of Navoi is planned with Austria.

These projects will provide employment for more than 17,800 people.

The President instructed to assist the initiators in organizational and financial matters and accelerate the implementation of the projects.
