A round table dedicated to the investment potential of Uzbekistan was held in Malaga, Spain

The Embassy of our country in Spain, in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the city of Malaga, organized a “round table” on the topic “Uzbekistan – Spain: new investment opportunities,” the correspondent of “Dunyo” news agency reports.

The event was attended by representatives of the business community of the Spanish province of Andalusia, including producers of olive oil, wine, canned fruits and vegetables, pyrite and copper ores, polymetallic ore mining companies, textile enterprises and others.

During the “round table” the participants were provided with detailed information about the economic potential of our country, new opportunities for investment cooperation. In particular, promising projects in the coal industry, alternative energy, and winemaking were discussed.

In his speech, Secretary General of the Malaga Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jeronimo Perez Crasera noted that a wide range of participants in the event testifies to the great interest of Spanish business circles in the development of trade, economic and investment cooperation with Uzbekistan.

According to him, Uzbekistan occupies a strategic position in the Asian region, connecting South Asia, Europe and China. In this regard, the entry of Spanish companies into the Uzbek market opens up wide opportunities for entering the huge Asian market. He also emphasized the high level of macroeconomic indicators and the stable development of the economy of our country. According to him, the impressive dynamics of GDP growth is an important factor that gives confidence to leading Spanish companies in choosing Uzbekistan as an attractive partner for investment cooperation.

Fernando Alassii, the head of the Spanish textile enterprise Cordivias SA, noted that today, thanks to the dynamics of rapid development, exceptionally favorable conditions have been created in Uzbekistan for deepening business relations. In his opinion, the reduction in the value added tax rate from 20% to 12%, as well as exemption from customs duties for enterprises importing goods for their own needs at a rate of at least 33%, is a good signal for the revival of the leadership of Spanish companies in the market. Uzbekistan.

In turn, the Uzbek side emphasized the interest in trade and economic cooperation, which involves the involvement of modern technologies and know-how, the creation of capacities for the production of a wide range of finished export products with high added value.
