On 25 November, the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade hosted a meeting between Deputy Minister Akram Aliyev and the leadership of Textima, headed by Hartmut Gerlof, the press service of the MIIT reports.
During the discussions, the parties highlighted the strong dynamics of Uzbekistan–Germany cooperation and the growth of bilateral trade, which exceeded USD 1.2 billion by the end of 2024. Special attention was given to expanding collaboration in the textile industry – one of the key sectors driving Uzbekistan’s industrial development.
It was noted that Uzbekistan is undertaking a deep modernization of its textile sector, including improvements in production processes, support for enterprises, and the introduction of advanced technological solutions. These measures aim to enhance the competitiveness of finished products in global markets. The German side highly appreciated the ongoing reforms and expressed its readiness to continue active participation in strategic projects, contributing to the growth of Uzbekistan’s textile export potential.
Following the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in advancing joint initiatives and agreed to continue practical cooperation.
