On May 27 of this year in Tashkent, the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov took part in a meeting with the heads of companies, regions and industries of Uzbekistan and Russia, held as part of the program of the state visit of President V. Putin to our country, the PR center of the ministry reports.
The event provided a unique platform for informal communication, where participants had the opportunity to discuss plans and strategies for mutually beneficial cooperation.
The delegations of the two states at the event were headed by: from the Uzbek side – Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Zhamshid Khojaev, and from the Russian side – Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov.
The meeting in the format of a business breakfast was of an open, confidential nature, which was distinguished by a free format and the active involvement of representatives of the business community and regional heads in the discussion of topical issues of practical interaction.
The importance of holding the meeting as part of the State Visit of the President of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Uzbekistan was noted, which, without exaggeration, will become historical, marking a new milestone in the multifaceted relations between the two states.
Russian colleagues were presented with the comfortable conditions for doing business created in Uzbekistan and the results of the irreversible reforms implemented.
Confidence and disposition for further cooperation were emphasized to maintain the dynamics of growth in mutual trade turnover, promote investment projects and expand industrial cooperation in various sectors of the economy of our countries.
There was also a question and answer session, during which entrepreneurs were able to ask questions that interested them, including those related to the practical aspects of establishing mutually beneficial relationships and implementing joint projects, support from government agencies, to which detailed answers were given.
Jamshid Khojaev focused on the government’s readiness to provide comprehensive assistance to representatives of the business community in implementing investment initiatives in Uzbekistan.
In turn, Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov emphasized that the high pace of interaction between Russia and Uzbekistan is set by the heads of state, and mutual interest in the development of bilateral ties and joint projects is supported at the level of governments, regions and businesses. In his opinion, the format of such close cooperation at all levels allows authorities to more quickly respond to the requests of the business community of both countries and jointly find the necessary solutions.
“Now we have one common ambitious goal of doubling the volume of mutual trade by 2030, which was set for us by the Presidents of Russia and Uzbekistan. We have already started to implement it,” noted Maxim Reshetnikov. “To do this, we have created a Russian-Uzbek working group on doubling trade, which includes deputy ministers of relevant departments, we are improving the conditions for trade and investment, and we are intensifying the infrastructure of state support for business projects.”
During the business breakfast, entrepreneurs asked pressing questions and presented their projects, which in the future will be considered by members of the intergovernmental commission and the Russian-Uzbek and Uzbek-Russian Business Council.
