Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited Uzbekistan on a working visit

The delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan, headed by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, arrived on a working visit in Uzbekistan. On the first day of the visit, Rastam Minnikhanov visited Samarkand, where negotiations were held with the khokim of the Samarkand region Erkinjon Turdimov.

On November 26, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the Tatarstan-Uzbekistan business forum.

Opening the forum, Minnikhanov expressed his gratitude Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev for their attention and support given to the development of inter-regional cooperation.

“Today we are pleased to present the economic potential of Tatarstan. Our republic focuses on the development of cooperation with Uzbekistan, and we will be glad to expand mutually beneficial ties,” Minnikhanov said.

Then the Tatarstan delegation met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov.

After that, Shavkat Mirziyoyev meets with Tatarstan delegation. The meeting served to examine topical issues in the current stage of cooperation and prospects for the development of practical cooperation with Tatarstan, one of the leading partners for Uzbekistan’s regions among the Russian Federation subjects.

Volumes of trade with the Russian region have been growing. Joint projects are implemented in engineering, oil and gas, chemical and other industries.

The importance was emphasized of furthering the mutually advantageous cooperation, boosting the trade, enhancing the manufacturing interaction and promoting specific projects in agricultural machinery, the electrical and pharmaceutical industries, information technology, housing and utility services, as well as healthcare and education.

The two sides agreed to devise a roadmap for 2020 and hold regular meetings of the bilateral working group to expand partnerships.
