Results of the First International Investment Forum in Andijan

Within two days, October 19-20, the First International Investment Forum was held in Andijan, more than 500 representatives from 30 countries took part. As a result, agreements for 250 million US dollars were signed.

In addition, with the participation of the Indian delegation, a branch of the Indian Shard University in Andijan was inaugurated. The University has the largest number of foreign students studying among private universities in India. Specialists in the field of information and communication technologies, pharmaceuticals and medicine are trained there.

An agreement was signed with the Indian company Cadila Pharmaceuticals Limited on the comprehensive implementation of integrated pharmaceutical production project with foreign direct investment of 50 Million USD, and the development by 2024 of the production of almost 200 types of meds. The production will be located in the Andijan Farm pharmaceutical zone, the project itself provides for the creation of 1,500 new jobs.

In addition, during his speech, the Khokim of Andijan region noted that in 2019, 95 new projects in amount of 412 Million USD are being implemented in the region with the participation of foreign investors.
