Chinese companies will implement over 50 projects in Uzbekistan

At the end of August, an Intergovernmental meeting between China and Uzbekistan was held in China, where agreements, memorandums and direct contracts were signed for a total amount of 4.3 billion. To comply with all agreements, a Cabinet of Ministers resolution was signed on September 25, 2019, which contains action plan for the implementation of 54 joint projects.

Projects will be implemented in the IT sector:

cooperation in the implementation of the “Safe City” in the regions in the amount of 1 billion;

development of the Uzbektelecom broadband access network and the Uzmobile network;

implementation of IT in the emergency medical service;

Ucell’s network development;

UMS’s equipment modernization;

and other.

One of the agreements provides for the creation of a special economic zone near the city of Nurafshon by Tianjin Kaiteng company. There will be a branch of a large Chinese institute of industrial and civil facilities, the production of photovoltaic stations, a clothing factory and much more.

Chinese company Hebei Good Hope Logistics Development Co. will organize the production of pickups in Angren.

Chongqing Sunfeel Industrial company will create a cluster for the production, processing and manufacture of silk products. An agreement was signed with Hua Zhen on the organization of an agricultural cluster, a hotel complex.

The joint venture Fergana Stone Paper will produce stone paper, and a plant for the production of portland cement and paper from reeds will appear in the Bukhara region.
