Targeted introduction of international certification standards to be undertaken at enterprises

On September 28, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on the effectiveness of reforms in the system of technical regulation, standardization, certification and metrology.

The head of state identified the main tasks in the sphere of giving the Uzstandard Agency the status of a national body, targeted implementation of new standards at enterprises.

“We must achieve that the national standard has its own“ weighty voice, ”said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The task was set to bring the number of international standards implemented in the country to 14 thousand and the level of compliance with national standards to 50 percent by the end of next year.

The responsible ministries and associations have been instructed to expand the application of the OEKO-Tex standard in textile factories, CE marking in the electrical industry, and Global G.A.P. systems. and Organic in agriculture. The importance of assisting enterprises that implement international standards and partially covering part of the corresponding costs at the expense of the Export Promotion Agency was emphasized.

Instructions were given to abolish more than 5 thousand outdated standards, to bring technical regulations for product safety in line with the requirements of Europe and the Eurasian Economic Union. At the same time, the number and scope of safety requirements will be increased to prevent the import of poor quality goods.
