“Investment Visa” became available

According to the Decree “On the State Program for the Implementation of the Action Strategy for the Five Priority Directions of Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017–2021 in the Year of Active Investments and Social Development,” from March 1, 2019, a provision came into effect, in accordance with which the visa regime is simplified and rules of stay in the country for:

• founders (participants) of businesses with foreign investments and members of their families introduce an “investment visa” for a period of 3 years with the possibility of extension without leaving the country;
• foreigners, including founders (participants) of businesses with foreign investments, who have invested at least $ 3 million in local enterprises for the production of goods and services, according to which they can obtain a residence permit in Uzbekistan in a simplified procedure for 10 years;
• foreign investors with a residence permit or an “investment visa”, as well as their family members, now have a provision in accordance with which they are entitled to use medical and educational services as the same as with Uzbek citizens;
• foreign specialists attracted by foreign investors and their family members; temporary residence registration is now carried out in the settlement in whose territory the investment project is being implemented for the duration of the visa (if there is no visa for 1 year) without the need for re-registration when staying in other regions of the country.
