Supply of fruits and vegetables to the countries of the Persian Gulf

On June 25, 2019, an exhibition was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the capital of Oman, Muscat, to launch a pilot project for the supply of fresh Uzbek fruit.

Earlier, the Embassy together with the Oman International Logistics Company ASYAD organized the first trial delivery of Uzbek fruits in Muscat. To date, about 200 kg have been shipped to Oman by air. fresh sweet peaches of “Nectarine” variety and famous Uzbek melons.

The exhibition, organized by the Embassy in cooperation with ASYAD, was also attended by the Ambassador of Bahrain in Oman Juma al-Qabi, a delegation of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce, representatives of the Embassies of the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Atyab foodtech, Al-Hosn, Al also a number of major distributors and trading companies of Oman.

During the event, it was stated that Uzbekistan ranks among the suppliers of a wide range of high-quality fresh fruits and vegetables. In this context, the Omani market is one of the priorities for the export of Uzbek fresh fruit.

The representatives of ASYAD stressed the willingness of the Omani side to provide all the necessary conditions for the creation of a hub for the delivery and distribution of Uzbek fruits and vegetables in the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf.

Representatives of the Bahraini Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates highly appreciated the taste of Uzbek fruits and expressed their willingness to discuss the prospects for re-export of Uzbek agricultural products from Oman to their countries.

The event also discussed issues of further development of cooperation in the supply of fresh fruits to the countries of the region, as well as an exchange of views on finding new and effective routes for the delivery of Uzbek products.
