Uzbekistan and Russia plan to create a joint low-cost airline

Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation held a meeting on transport cooperation.

The Russian side was headed by the First Deputy Minister of Transport – Alexander Neradjko, the Head of Rosaváv, and the Uzbek Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan – Elyr Ganiev.

The Parties considered the current issues of bilateral cooperation, paying particular attention to cooperation in the field of air transport. In particular, preparations for the signing of an agreement between the Federal Air Transport Agency and the Civil Aviation Agency on cooperation in the field of airworthiness were discussed.

There was also talk of the possibility of an increase in the number of flights between the two countries and the creation of a Russian-Uzbek low-cost airline to transport passengers and cargo.
