By the end of June 2021, Uzbekistan and the United States plan to hold the first meeting in the format of a strategic partnership dialogue in Tashkent. This was stated by the press secretary and official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Yusup Kabulzhanov.
So, in May 2018, during the first official visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the United States, the parties signed a joint political statement “Uzbekistan – USA: the beginning of a new era of strategic partnership.”
In November 2020, following the results of the Uzbek-American political consultations in Washington, a joint statement was adopted, where it was indicated that the governments of the two countries had decided to raise the format of annual regular contacts to the level of a strategic partnership dialogue.
Thus, the meeting scheduled to be held in June will be the first impetus for the development of in-depth cooperation between the two countries.
