On September 6, 2019, the Embassy of our country in Delhi, together with the Uzbekipaksanoat Association and the Indian Council for the Promotion of Silk Export, held a presentation of the potential of Uzbekistan for the production of silk products.

The Indian Silk Export Promotion Council (ISEPC) is a non-profit organization founded in 1983 under the Indian Ministry of Textiles. Today, it consists of about 2,000 entrepreneurs engaged in the production and trade of silk products.

The event was attended by representatives of the Uzbekipaksanoat Association, Indian business circles, silk producers, trading companies, members of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India.

During the session, the current state and prospects for the development of the silk industry in Uzbekistan were presented in detail, as well as an interactive exchange of views on expanding cooperation in this field. Detailed information is also provided on the favorable conditions created in Uzbekistan for foreign investors, in particular in the field of sericulture.

As a result of the event, ISEPC management and members expressed their willingness to visit Uzbekistan to familiarize themselves with the created conditions and discuss prospects for the implementation of bilateral projects.
