A modern pharmaceutical factory is being built in Navoi

On November 4, Minister of Innovation Development Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov and a delegation from China discussed the construction of a pharmaceutical factory for the synthesis of medicinal substances.

The new pharmaceutical factory shall align the production of pharmaceutical substances in Uzbekistan and thereby fundamentally change the situation in this sphere – at the moment, the main pharmaceutical substances are imported from abroad. Nowadays it is possible to product them at the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry and the Institute of Plant Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, but there are no proper conditions for their synthesis provided.

10 million USD has been allocated for the construction of the pharmaceutical factory; it will be located in the Navoi Free Economic Zone.
