Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ashraf Khodjaev held a meeting with the Minister of Municipal Affairs of Qatar Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, the correspondent of ‘‘Dunyo’’ news agency reports.
During the meeting, the current state and prospects of cooperation between the two countries on such issues as food security, development of tourism infrastructure, obtaining phytosanitary permits for the import of agricultural products, as well as the exchange of experience in municipal management were discussed.
“Thanks to large-scale comprehensive reforms under the leadership of the President of Uzbekistan, we are seeing how your country is transforming and developing, how its position in the international arena is strengthening. We highly value friendly relations with Uzbekistan and are determined to intensify our multifaceted cooperation”, – the minister noted.
He also expressed interest in deepening cooperation between the two countries to ensure food security, establishing reliable channels for the supply of high-quality fruit and vegetable products from Uzbekistan to the Qatari market.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on organizing an Uzbekistan stand at the upcoming international agricultural exhibition in Doha in February 2025.
