A regional inter-industry industrial fair has started in the free trade zone ‘‘Termez International Trade Center’’

On October 24 of this year, a regional inter-industry industrial fair was launched in the free trade zone ‘‘Termez International Trade Center’’, created on the border of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan in the Termez district of the Surkhandarya region, the press service of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade reports.

Under the coordination of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, the fair was organized jointly with the khokimiyat of the Surkhandarya region, the Digital Transformation Center, the free trade zone ‘‘Termez International Trade Center’’, the Associations ‘‘O‘zsanoatqurilishmateriallari’’ and ‘‘Uzkimyosanoat’’.

The goal of the event is to increase the production volumes of modern, competitive, export-oriented, import-substituting products, further build up industrial potential, and expand the scale of localization.

Five large systemically important enterprises of our country and more than 200 local manufacturers representing the fields of agriculture, food, chemical, leather and footwear and textile industries, fruit and vegetable processing, and construction materials production are taking part in the two-day regional inter-industry industrial fair. Exhibitors presented over 500 types of their products.

The Afghan delegation participating in the fair got acquainted with the exhibits, visited the ‘‘Hilton’’ Hotel located in the free trade zone, the ‘‘AKFA MEDLINE’’ clinic, the logistics terminal and the showroom.

Representatives of the delegation expressed interest in establishing trade relations and signing a number of bilateral agreements.

In general, within the framework of the interregional industry fair, agreements are expected to be reached on signing agreements and contracts worth 250 billion soums.
