The next item on the business program of the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev was a meeting with the delegation of the United Arab Emirates headed by the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Mohammed al-Mazrouei, the press service of the head of our state reports.
The meeting was also attended by the heads of the companies ‘‘Masdar’’ Mohammed Jamil al-Ramahi, ‘‘TAQA’’ Jassim Hussein Thabet, ‘‘TAQA Water Solutions’’ Ahmad al-Shamsi and ‘‘Etihad Water & Electricity’’ Yousif al-Ali.
These companies are the world’s leading manufacturers and operators in the field of energy supply, water supply and treatment system management.
Plans for the implementation of investment projects in our country were considered, primarily in the field of “green” energy, modernization of public utility networks and improvement of drinking water supply.
The head of our state noted with great satisfaction that strategic cooperation in the energy sector is the driving force of bilateral cooperation.
In this area, 5 projects worth 1.5 billion dollars have been jointly launched. In December, a 500-megawatt wind farm was commissioned in the Navoi region, and construction of a number of other facilities is in the active phase.
The President of Uzbekistan supported the companies’ plans to expand the capacity of existing thermal power plants, modernize low-voltage power grids, accelerate the construction of new hydroelectric power plants, energy storage systems, large solar and wind power plants in the regions of our country.
In addition, broad opportunities for the development of water supply networks and the creation of new treatment facilities on the principles of public-private partnership were noted.
