Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan discussed the implementation of joint projects

On the sidelines of the trilateral summit in the city of Khujand, a meeting was held between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, the press service of the head of our state reports.

At the beginning, the leaders exchanged warm congratulations on the occasion of the spring holiday of Navruz and the holy Ramadan Hayit, wishing the fraternal peoples peace, well-being and prosperity.

The results of the trilateral talks held today were highly appreciated, the main result of which was the signing of the Agreement on the junction point of the state borders of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

The progress in implementing the agreements reached at the highest level was noted with satisfaction. Trade turnover has grown by 70 percent since the beginning of the year. Industrial cooperation is successfully developing in various sectors of the economy, including with the support of the joint Investment Fund.

The issues of accelerating major regional projects in the energy and transport communications sectors, including the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, were discussed.

The heads of state spoke in favor of maintaining intensive interregional contacts and cultural and humanitarian exchanges.

The presidents also exchanged views on the schedule and agenda of upcoming high-level events.
