On April 9 of this year, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan with Katsunori Sugiura, the President of the Japanese company Sugi Holdings, the press service of the Ministry reports.
SUGI Holdings was established in 1976 and oversees a consortium of pharmaceutical and medical companies. The organization operates over 2,500 stores and 14 major logistics centers across Japan. The shares of the holding company are listed on both the Tokyo and Osaka stock exchanges.
The meeting addressed the company’s expertise in managing large pharmacy chains, the implementation of preventive medical programs, and the supply of Japanese medical products.
Katsunori Sugiura expressed interest in forming a strategic partnership to implement a project for constructing a pharmaceutical plant in Uzbekistan. This initiative aims to address the needs of our country while also facilitating exports to neighboring markets.
The parties have reached an agreement to continue their collaborative efforts on the implementation of the discussed projects, with the appointment of a dedicated project manager from MIIT.
