Prospective projects of Uzbek-Pakistani economic cooperation were discussed in the Pakistani city of Sialkot

Diplomats of the Embassy of Uzbekistan made a working visit to the Pakistani city of Sialkot in Punjab province, the correspondent of ‘‘Dunyo’’ news agency reports.

During the visit, meetings and negotiations were held on the prospects of bilateral economic cooperation in various fields.

In particular, during the negotiations with the head of one of the world’s leading companies in the production of footballs ‘‘Forward Group’’ Khawaja Masood Akhtar, plans were discussed to organize the production of footballs in Uzbekistan.

In addition, meetings were held with the heads of the companies ‘‘Medical Devices’’, ‘‘Rhein’’ and ‘‘Stahlmann Pro’’, where the products of these organizations were presented. The diplomats presented information about the favorable investment climate in Uzbekistan, the benefits provided to foreign investors, as well as the growing need for high-quality medical equipment and implants.

During the meeting with Vice President of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry Shahzod Lodhi, the Pakistani side was informed about the significant economic and investment potential of Uzbekistan, as well as the Ayritom Free Economic Zone. Commercial proposals and procedures for establishing joint ventures between the countries were discussed. Information was also provided on the Tashkent International Investment Forum, which will be held in June this year, and the participation of a delegation of Sialkot entrepreneurs in this event was considered.

During a conversation with Chairman of the Board of Sialkot International Airport Hasan Ali Bhatti, the importance of further development of Sialkot Airport as a key transit and logistics hub was emphasized. As part of the discussion, the Pakistani side proposed that Uzbek cargo operators and Uzbekistan Airways consider the possibility of launching a direct air route to Sialkot.
