At the invitation of the Japanese side, a working visit of the delegation of the Embassy of Uzbekistan to Oita Prefecture was organized in order to expand cooperation between the regions of the two countries, the correspondent of ‘‘Dunyo’’ news agency reports.
During the visit, meetings were held with the Governor of the Prefecture Kiichiro Sato, the Mayor of Oita Shinya Adachi, the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the President of ‘‘ASTEM, Inc.’’ Yasuaki Yoshimura, the Vice President of ‘‘Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University’’ Yoshifumi Okamura, the CEO of the Oita Travel Agency Association Hideki Arai, the Secretary General of the International Junior Chamber of Japan, the President of ‘‘Honda Cars Oita’’ Daisuke Kai.
The meetings discussed issues of expanding cooperation in the field of interregional economic, cultural, tourist, educational and legal labor migration, the effective use of existing potential and expanding interaction in promising areas.
Chairman of the Oita Chamber of Commerce and Industry Yasuaki Yoshimura expressed his readiness to fully support investment activities and cooperation of companies of the Japanese prefecture in Uzbekistan, based on the favorable investment climate and high economic potential created in the country.
Following the meeting, the parties committed to strengthening investment cooperation with the business circles of the two countries, exchanging experience in the field of export and processing of agricultural products, establishing cooperation in the field of creating and managing geothermal tourism infrastructure.
The parties also agreed to work out the issue of participation of representatives of Oita prefecture companies in the 4th Tashkent International Investment Forum, which will be held in our country this summer.
