A meeting was held with Afghan delegation at the MIIT: prospects for expanding industrial, trade and investment cooperation were discussed

On April 29, 2025, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Akram Aliyev, met with Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade of Afghanistan, Mawlawi Ahmadullah Zahid, in Tashkent, the press service of the MIIT reports.

The parties discussed opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation in the areas of industry, trade, and investment.

Since the beginning of the year, mutual trade between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan has grown by 68% compared to the same period last year, reaching a total of $402 million.

The meeting resulted in agreements to deepen collaboration in key sectors including agriculture, geology, energy, transport, and logistics.

In addition, Mawlawi Ahmadullah Zahid participated in the international industrial exhibition INNOPROM. Central Asia – 2025, marking the first time an Afghan delegation has taken part in this major forum.
