Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan met with the Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization

On May 24, 2025, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov met with Dr. Salim bin Mohammed Al-Malik, the Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, the press service of the MFA reports. During the conversation, the parties discussed issues of expanding mutual cooperation.

Promising initiatives put forward by ICESCO were also highly appreciated. In particular, it was noted that the initiative to celebrate the city of Samarkand as the cultural capital of the Islamic world in 2025 gave a new impetus to cultural ties.

In addition, within the framework of the meeting, an Action Plan was signed between the Government of Uzbekistan and ICESCO, including priority areas for deepening cooperation and joint implementation of effective projects in the near future.
