As part of the Tashkent Investment Forum and the Foreign Investors Council, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by the Governor of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) Nobumitsu Hayashi, the press service of the head of our state reports.
The issues of expanding practical cooperation and promoting joint projects with the participation of this leading Japanese financial institution were discussed.
The contribution of JBIC to the development and modernization of key sectors of the economy of our country was noted with satisfaction.
Currently, the portfolio of joint projects has reached almost 4 billion dollars, including in such areas as petrochemical, textile industry, energy, information technology, infrastructure and other areas.
The importance of the earliest possible preparation and promotion of cooperation projects with the participation of Japanese companies in the field of “green” energy, IT, transport and healthcare within the framework of a new three-year cooperation program was emphasized.
The importance of taking practical measures to open the Japan International University in Uzbekistan was noted.
Following the talks, an agreement was reached on the adoption of a comprehensive “road map”.
